Rene 41 is a precipitation hardening, nickel-based high temperature alloy possessing high strength in the 1200/1800°F (649/982°C) temperature range. This alloy is designed for use in severely stressed high temperature applications.
ApplicationsRene 41 has found applications in jet engine and high speed airframe components such as: afterburner parts, turbine casings, wheels, buckets, bolts, and fasteners.
Corrosion ResistanceRene 41 is highly corrosion and oxidation resistant. It provides very good resistance to jet engine combustion gases up to 1800°F (982°C).

Due, to this unique combination of properties, MP35N® has many applications in such industries as oil and gas, aerospace and medical. MP35N can be effectively used at cryogenic temperatures without embrittlement and maintain its properties at temperatures up to 600°F, and is also suitable for medical implants and orthodontic/prosthetic devices.
MP35N® is able to resist corrosion to most mineral acid, hydrogen sulfide and seawater environments whilst exhibiting excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and hydrogen embrittlement, even at high strength levels. NACE MR0175 allows a hardness of up to 51 HRC for material that has been work strengthened and aged by one of the processes listed in the table below.

Beryllium Copper is the most commonly utilized Copper Beryllium alloy and is notable for its highest strength and hardness compared to commercial copper alloys. C17200 alloy contains appr. 2% of beryllium and achieves its ultimate tensile strength can exceed 200 ksi, while the hardness approaches Rockwell C45. HAYNES 25 (L605) is a non-magnetic cobalt based superalloy. HAYNES 25 (L605) maintains good strength upto 2150°F. AMS 5759 requires minimum yield strength of 45,000 psi at room temperature. HAYNES 25 (L605) maintains good oxidation resistance up to 1900° F. HAYNES 25 (L605) has a unique ability to resist corrosion in very severe environments. Highly resistant to hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and wet chlorine (subject to need for exercising care in its selection at certain con¬centrations and temperatures)
Hardenability
HAYNES 25 (L605) hardness is typically 250 BHN and never higher than 275 BHN by specification. Not significantly hardenable. Does not respond to customary aging treatments, but strain aging at relatively low temperatures (700-1100° F) can improve creep and rupture strength when the alloy is in service at temperatures under 1300° F. Also, tensile and creep strength can be improved by cold working. HAYNES 25 (L605) is an austenitic alloy.

Waspaloy® is an age hardening nickel base superalloy with useful strength at temperatures up to 1400-1600°F, and good oxidation resistance in gas turbine engine atmospheres up to 1600°F. The creep-rupture strength of Waspaloy is superior to that of alloy 718 at temperatures above 1150-1200°F. Short time hot tensile strength is inferior to alloy 718 at temperatures up to 1350°F.
Welding is difficult, and best performed on material in the solution annealed condition. Limit currents and the size of the fusion zone. Rapid cooling from welding is necessary to minimize aging stresses. Copper backup bars or water cooled fixtures are desirable. After welding, the fabrication should be solution treated, using rapid heating and cooling rates through the aging range. Follow anneal by stabilization and aging treatments.
A typical heat treatment is a solution heat teat at 1825°F for 2 hours, air cool. Stabilize heat treat at 1550°F for 4 hours, air cool. Precipitation heat treat at 1400°F for 16 hours, air cool.

Nickel 200 (UNS N02200/W.Nr. 2.4060 & 2.4066) is commercially pure (99.6%) wrought nickel. It has good mechanical properties and excellent resistance to many corrosive environments. Other useful features of the alloy are its magnetic and magnetostrictive properties, high thermal and electrical conductivities, low gas content and low vapor pressure. Chemical composition is shown in Table 1. The corrosion resistance of Nickel 200 makes it particularly useful for maintaining product purity in the handling of foods, synthetic fibers, and caustic alkalies; and also in structural applications where resistance to corrosion is a prime consideration. Other applications include chemical shipping drums, electrical and electronic parts, aerospace and missile components.
